The Wall Street Self-Defense Manual: A Consumer's Guide to Intelligent Investing will be published by Atlas Books in January, 2007. The book is designed to help readers invest more intelligently. It is easy to read (no jargon), easy to use (well-organized), easy to carry (small, light), and easy to afford ($10). It is organized in three parts:
- A Self-Defense Framework, which gives you the knowledge you need to manage your expectations; develop and stick to an intelligent investment plan; be a savvy investment-products-and-services shopper; and make sure that your advisors are doing a good job.
- Practicing Self-Defense, which shows you how to apply the self-defense framework to investment advisors, mutual funds, hedge funds, investment research, the investment media, and the greatest investment risk of all (yourself)--thus enabling you to make smarter choices and feel like less of a clueless sucker.
- A Solution, which describes a simple strategy that should enable you to feel confident and intelligent about your investment choices; protect you against market, advisor, and human-nature mistakes; and generate an above-average return.
